Dynamic Seal

Wherever motion of machine components is required, dynamic seals are used to barrier stationary and moving surfaces. Radial and axial seals do show quite different sets of application requirements. The use of lubricants can even escalate the challenges to the sealing material. Whenever the conditions are really getting harsh, Dyneon Fluoropolymers are the selected choice.

Adhesive Tape from Skived Tape

For adhesive PTFE tape, we recommend skived PTFE film with a special surface treatment for adhesive coating. Self-adhesive PTFE film is preferably used for electrical isolation purposes, thermal protection, packaging, circuit board marking and many other applications.

Sliding Pad

For moving heavy loads under extreme conditions in the chemical, petrochemical and cryogenic processing industry, or supporting natural thermal expansion movements of bridges, rail tracks and overland pipe lines, sliding pads made from 3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE or 3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE Compounds are the material of choice. The extremely smooth gliding capability due to low friction coefficient within a very broad temperature range and even at high pressures predetermine 3M™ Dyneon™ PTFE products for the production of high end sliding pad applications.

Spliced PTFE Yarn

Spliced yarns are manufactured from skived PTFE films for compression packing applications within the chemical industry (i.e. pumps). The universal chemical resistance as well as the outstanding thermal stability is used in an extremely wide spectrum of applications for braided packings. These PTFE yarns can be impregnated with PTFE dispersion, talc or graphitized PTFE dispersion for improved sliding behaviour.

Laminate

Dyneon PTFE films bonded to substrates like glass or carbon fibre fabrics provide protection against corrosion of chemical reactors and vessels. They also bond to the vessel base material, thus levelling out the different thermal expansion coefficients in use.
