3M partner with Nissan to deliver total brand solution on lease trucks to Hilti Group Fleet in South Africa. Hilti Group, a global provider of leading-edge technology to the construction industry since 1941, were impressed with the twin advantages of having creatively branded work vehicles and better resale value of white trucks when the films were removed without paint damage.
3M had the opportunity to partner with Nissan South Africa to supply a complete brand solution to the Hilti Group Fleet in South Africa. The concept was for Nissan to include a detailed proposal from 3M to wrap white vehicles in a specially manufactured, colour matched ‘Hilti Red’ self-adhesive, and removable, film solution – namely, 3M™ Controltac™ series 180. This wrap proposal allowed for, not only, paint protection, but also, an improved resale value at the end of the lease term, as white vehicles are easier to sell and generally sell for more than coloured or liveried vehicles.
3M authorised applicating company, Greensky in Johannesburg, was selected as the key partner for the project, with a high level of experience in both this market sector and also this type of film application.
The end result was one of excellent corporate red colour consistency across the board from one vehicle to the next, accompanied by the additional opportunity for the use of 3M™ Venture Shield™ and 3M™ Scotchcal™ IJ1020 series printed perforated window marking film for the truck window branding.
