ABN Amro chooses DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes for restyling of its bankshops

With the advent of the so-called “multi-channel” service bank branches are becoming less visited. Nowadays customers can make their most common transactions from home using their PC or phone. Cash comes from the ATM and in many bank branches is the cash function even eliminated. In addition, it appears that the customer loyalty towards their bank is declining and children will no longer take for granted banking at the bank of their parents. The above developments mean a major change for the bank branches and have triggered ABN AMRO to put a major restyling in motion.

With the restyling of the offices, the interior has been of course looked at. The branches needed to have a “look and feel” which suits to the new ABM AMRO style. As ABN AMRO had still to decide on a number of branches, it was important to be able to convert those branches in a modern and contemporary look at relatively low investment until it was clear what would happen with those branches. The refurbishment happened with 3M™ DI-NOC™ Architectural Finishes. The result is astonishing: the branches are totally different interiors.

"The 'conversions' went relatively quickly, so that the offices do not have to be closed. 3M understands well what we want and that, for example, speed is important for us. Moreover, DI-NOC film is suitable for outdoor application, so we could even adapt the walls of the ATMs relatively easy to the new style. But the key feature of the DI-NOC film is of course that our customers do not see the difference with ‘real’!”
