Commercial International Bank refurbish bank branches with four different 3M solutions

Commercial International Bank, based in Egypt is one of the biggest banks in the country and African region. With a long history of working with 3M on its visual identity initiatives, it seems natural to open discussions with the 3M team on innovative new materials that were available to meet their budget, deadlines and sustainability agenda, when refurbishing the interior ‘look and feel’ of their retail branch network.

Mohamed Rouchdy, C.I.B’s Senior Specialist in their Marketing & Communication Dept worked closely with both 3M and the approved graphic converters and installers to finalise the designs, the material finishes and to arrange pilot sites and prototypes where the brand environment could be reviewed by both C.I.B. senior management and by select customers.

For the interior walls and Doors of the “Wealth Lounge”, C.I.B. opted to use 3M™ Di-Noc™ Architectural Finishes in a Metallic dark wood grain shade which would easily conform to and wrap the existing wall surfaces, giving long term durability, and removing the need to replace the existing walls with a new structure.

Where photographic imagery was required, 3M tested 3M™ Controltac™ Graphic Film series 180 – IJ180-Cv3-10, printed with compatible inks and hardware, to provide high resolution graphics also fitted to vertically exposed walls as well as the ATM machines and protected with 8520 lustre protective laminate, against medium abrasions and wear and tear.

For the interior glass and glazing panels, located in individual offices and meeting rooms, new 3M™ Scotchcal™ Clearview ‘optically clear’ film was employed to produce effective semi-transparent images, which when applied to the glass with 100% coverage, gave great results.

Finally, for the more standard manifestation graphics and privacy and security screening on glass, C.I.B chose to use 3M™ Crystal Film in frosted finish, with excellent light transmission and diffusion qualities.

The overall programme was fully warranted by 3M.
