Baumax is an Austrian family-owned business with a successful trading history of over thirty years, now operating in eight European countries where it brings to market a range of products from construction and interiors, to gardening and tools. The expansion of its retail network in Bulgaria has led to thedevelopment of some very large megastores with equally large and highly visible signs.

With some signs using a translucent and diffuse flexible signface material tensioned to a signbox, illuminated with LED’s, the Baumax corporate identity required the best quality in coloured translucent graphic films providing superb colour density, uniformity and external durability.

3M™ Scotchcal™ Translucent Graphic Film series 3630, a cast pvc self-adhesive film was specified partly due to quality and warranty, but also because of the production by 3M of a custom colour specifically matched to Baumax own brand guideline standards.

In addition to the backlit signs, three other secondary colours of the 3630 series film were selected for use with enormous pictorial hanging banners suspended over the roof edge of the megastores.
