Primer Sanding

Apply 3M™ Dry Guide Coat

Step 1

Apply 3M™ Dry Guide Coat (09560) to onto primed surfaces.

 
Hand block the repair area with 3M™ Hookit Purple+ Multihole Abrasive sheets P320

Step 2

Hand block the repair area with 3M™ Hookit Purple+ Multihole Abrasive sheets P320 (30641).

 
Sand awkward primed areas with 3M™ 216U P800 Sanding sponges

Step 3

Sand awkward primed areas with 3M™ 216U P800 Sanding sponges (50340).

 
Re-apply 3M™ Dry Guide Coat

Step 4

Re-apply 3M™ Dry Guide Coat (09560), machine sand using 3M™ Hookit™ Purple+ Multihole Abrasive discs P400 for solid colours or P500 for light base coats (50533/50534).

 
Adjacent panels can be prepared by machine using a 3M™ Microfinishing abrasive disc 260L

Step 5

Adjacent panels can be prepared by machine using a 3M™ Microfinishing abrasive disc 260L P1000 (50240).
OR
3M™ Trizact™ Blending Discs P1000 (50341) and water. This can either be done before or after primer application depending on the job.

 
3M™ Scotch-Brite™ discs

Step 6

OR use 3M™ Scotch-Brite™ discs in grey (07613) OR using Scotch-Brite™ Hand Pads in grey (07448) using 3M™ Prep and Blend Liquid (09308).

 
Check Repair

Step 6

Again, check repair, blow and wipe all surfaces in preparation for topcoat masking.
