Aboriginal Network

Vision: The Aboriginal people’s Network will be viewed as a valued and contributing part of 3M and will help improve the life situation for aboriginals in communities across Canada.

Objectives

1. Promote a 3M environment that is receptive to Aboriginals
2. Provide continuing support to 3M’s Aboriginal employees
3. Promote the development and advancement of 3M’s Aboriginal employees

Initiatives:

• Establish a relationship with an organization that specializes in Native employment and training that is also well connected to the local Aboriginal community, government, businesses, and educational institutions.
• Participate on non-profit boards, visit schools, and help at Aboriginal community events, sit on business councils, be role models.
• Participate in mentoring programs as the opportunity arises and encourage members of the Aboriginal community to self identify and participate as part of the group.
