Banco de Bogota, the second largest bank in Colombia had maintained the same image for almost 25 years without change. Their approaching centenary anniversary, as one of the oldest banks in the country, convinced them to undertake an update.

Hiring branding experts, Future Brand, a study was conducted into the history, the name, and the customers of the bank brand to reveal what a new image should represent to all audiences.

Future Brand worked very closely with the 3M team in Bogota and proposed many designs which were all prototyped in a variety of 3M high quality materials to evaluate both the aesthetic appearance and the technical requirements.

At the same time management in the bank and the administrative area were concerned about the implementation of the project, since it needed to be fast to create the dramatic impact desired with their customers.

3M proposed a Brand Owner Services programme whereby 3M would manage the implementation of the complete signage and graphics project across all of its retail and corporate agencies, as well as its network of ATM’s where there is a strong brand presence.

Banco de Bogotá accepted the 3M proposal, since it solved all the main issues and challenges regarding timings, budgets and quality. They recognized that the proposal was convenient for them since they only had to manage one provider with a high degree of reliability.
