Using an inexpensive device that reduces a sophisticated diagnostic procedure to the size of a credit card, doctors there can now accurately identify patients who might benefit from treatment with scarce, life-giving drugs.

3M continues to evolve products and technologies relevant to microfluidics applications and specifically components that improve performance and manufacturability of Point of Care test strips. 3M has recently lanuched a next generation adhesive that can be configured using various substrates, liners, and adhesive thickness. Advantages include biocompatibility and improved processing characteristics such as die cutting. In addition, 3M has recently made available to the market a next generation hydrophilic film with superior characteristics including better stability and less impact from enviornmental conditions.
